Edge of Insanity

So, this is pretty cool.

Today we had a cool treat provided by one of our developers, Osso. He let us know that v4 will support embedding videos into pretty much every single thing on the website; articles, forums, blogs, etc.

And so I wanted to take this opportunity to show it off using the new Guild Wars: Eye of the North dungeon preview video.

var FO_11 = { movie:"http://dev.curse-gaming.com/static/flash/flvplayer.swf", width:"500", height:"350", majorversion:"7", build:"0", bgcolor:"#FFFFFF", allowfullscreen:"true", flashvars:"file=http://videos.cursebeta.com/stream2/premium/344.flv&autostart=true" }; $("#flvplayer_11").click(function(event) { UFO.create(FO_11, "flvplayer_11"); $(this).unbind('click'); });

Pretty cool, huh? adsafasdfsa

    Well nothing revolutionary, but still good to have. I also remember some video embedding back in v2. Or is my memory failing me ?

    1 more thing... it would be actually good to make those videos start streaming when you click on them or the Play button, not this way - they start streaming as soon as the page loads. That way users don't need to waste unnecessary bandwith (especially if there is more than one video embeded).

    Maybe you could also make people able to embed youtube videos ? Sure, it could be abused, but so can this.

    If you ever gonna do the youtube thing though, I wouldn't allow it on the forums.

    Osso is working on changing it so you have to start the video manually, yeah. Streaming won't start right away.
