We have pushed live an update to the site tonight which included a few key things:

A few fixes for account activation.
Several fixes for account login.
Updated news RSS feeds (check the subscribe links on portals, they're now site specific again).
Some other minor fixes.

Free to Play Portal and More!

We are glad to now offer our Free to Play portal on Curse. On it you will find news, images, videos, downloads, and forums for all of your favorite free MMOs. You can also browse and rate released games as well as see upcoming ones.

There are now new skins on the Starcraft 2 portal as well as the Tabula Rasa portal.

We managed to squash a bug with the favorites the other day that was causing them to not update when blogs had new entries. Luckily for all our blogging fans out there, the bug is no more :)

You could, for example, subscribe to our dev blog, and we'll happily send you a notification every time we post about new features or updates to the website.

(We have some uber top secret stuff coming soon!)

Additional Vanguard Database Improvements

We pushed live more changes today, some of which are new additions to the VG database. The main page of the database once again has most recent comments on items listed: http://vg.curse.com/database/

You'll notice there are two tabs, Latest Comments and Wiki Updates. Wiki Updates is for a new field in both http://vg.curse.com/database/chunks/ and http://vg.curse.com/database/entities/ where you can enter custom information regarding that chunk/entity such as strategies for a dungeon, a creature, hints at where to find certain things within a chunk, etc.

We've also added the ability to search Abilities and Spells, as well as a Classes page: http://vg.curse.com/database/classes/

If you head over to a class page, like say the Bard - http://vg.curse.com/database/classes/2/ - you'll notice two tabs: Abilities which gives all the info for your spells and abilities, as well as a Class Trainers tab that will display a list of each of your trainers, as well as the chunk they're located in.

All of these pages use the new search features that we announced recently.

New Beta Vanguard Database Search

We've made massive improvements to the Vanguard database search on Curse. You can check it out yourself if you'd like by visiting the Vanguard database, but here's an example search for everyone to see just how accurate and fast the search is compared to the past, as well as sorting being near-instant now.

It's also implemented on our World of Warcraft database, but it hasn't been fully refined for WoW-specific searches just yet.

This will be coming to item and creature pages as well, not just the general database search. Feedback and suggestions on the changes are welcome, so please visit our Feedback & Suggestions forum if you have ideas for ways to improve the database search. There are a few IE bugs with it that we know of; Zinor will be fixing them before we consider this in a "live" state.

Favorites and Alerts

We have fixed an issue with email alerts that that occurred from transferring to Curse.com. You should all begin receiving your daily updates again tomorrow.

We have also moved the alerts to be links above the top navigation bar when you have updated favorites or new messages (or any future alerts).
