My Curse.Com Case Modification - Part 7

Sept. 22, 2007 | by Flisher | Tags: curse, mod

Been slacky in the last few days... but...

I got my paint. Black, Orange and Yellow that doesn't require primer. I also got a clear finish can ready.

I starded to polish/sans with grade 400 dry/wet sandpaper. I should finish in the next few days.

Only then I'll be able to paint the "beast".

More picture to come.

In my 50 'cheap' box, I found : - about 20 removable metal pieces acting like "spring" to prevent pannel vibration, - same kind of metal piece for expansion slot - about 10 plastic drive screwless device (made of 2 plastic pieces) - bunch of cabling linked to the front panel, I added some electric tape, removed the thing from the box in order to paint it as well.

I removed like 8 screw for nothing.... since there is a panel inside the box with screw at the bottom, but the top is soldered so it's not removeable.

It took me a while to figure there where 6 plastic pin holding the front panel... 2 of them where not really visible.

Basicaly, everything that isn't electronic inside the box will be orange or yellow, including most cable.

I think there is about 1 or 2 hours of sanding to be done, then the painting part.

ouch... took about 1 hours 30 minutes to remove all screw, plastic and all non-riveted part of the box. I also installed masking tape under the case, since I don't want to paint it,.
