Iceblock and mana gems... /happy dance

So I've been overworked and tired as all hell the past few days, barely having any time to do anything online other than raiding (I can't skip out, those guys are lost without me!). I haven't been able to even install Hellgate:London yet, so don't expect anything regarding that matter from me yet, and when I do post about it, the novelty will probably be over.

Now, to the matter at hand: Trainable Iceblock and Mana Gem "buff" according to Kalgan.
Specifics? None yet.
Am I happy? Hells yeah.
After reading Kalgan's post and seeing his explanation behind the reasoning for making IB trainable (to make specs other than frost more PvP viable), I asked myself, will it really make them work for arena play?
It will certainly add surviveability, and you can still make something of an elementalist spec, focusing on fire, and still get cold snap and shatter, but is it going to be worth loosing everything else frost has to offer? Probably not, but it will certainly be fun to try!

The other big question is: What is the new 21 frost talent going to be? Will it be another major PvP oriented talent? Or will it be something that gives frost another boost in PvE dps? Maybe a utility talent that will do something that affects your party or debuffs your target. I have no clear opinion here as of yet, could really be anything.

Now, as far as mana gems go, I hope they do something else other than just up the base mana recovery; something along the lines of making it scale with spell damage or intelect. That would be fantastic.

As a 10/48/3 fire mage, it's not gonna make us arena viable really, but it does add some survivability for sure. You can look at it as a PvE boost as well i supposse, since it will allow you to wipe aggro, so you can theoretically do more dmg, but it's not a big boost. I would imagine they will probably add a PvE talent to the frost tree to help their viability there in raiding and such.

Not sure about the mana gems. They would have to up the base mana significantly for it to really be a boost I think. Maybe scaling with +dmg or %of total mana would help. We'll see what they have in mind.

Actually, IB doesn't wipe agro. But the same as every other immunity effect (BoP, Divine Shield, even Nether protection -we found this out the hard way-) will make the mob stop focusing on you.

As far as the fire issue goes... one can only hope. Hell, I'd be happy with an 1800-1900 rating really ;p
