New PTR Build -- Many many changes!

News | March 1, 2008 (5 months, 3 weeks ago) | by Zyuu | Filed in World of Warcraft

There's a new PTR build available and we have updated you all night long with what's new and changed. Below you can see a compiled list of everything new and changed.

New Items and Gems

You can get the designs at revered from the Shattered Sun Offensive Quartermaster , and at honored from the Scale of the Sands Quartermaster.

New enchants on the Tournament Server

These enchants can be "bought" and then applied on your items. Instead of having to enchant them with a spell. You can only buy them on the Tournament Server.

Public Test Realms Changes

  • There appear to be collision checking with NPCs on the PvP tournament server, other players can't "block" NPCs in order to prevent other people to use them anymore.
  • You can now join EU/US/KR PTR servers with the same account.

Changes to Alchemy

As you can notice at WOWDB (updated with latest changes), materials requirements have changed for alchemist stones. They are now cheaper.

I think that enchanters will be able to buy blank scrolls, put their enchant on it and then sell it through the AH. Ofcourse the scrool will have only one "charge"

Yea that is a great idea.
It would work well for mains wanting to enchant alt weapons, instead of sending mats then getting someone else, and worrying to "Tip"(greedy people, depending on enchant of course), you could just send the scroll..

Implement ASAP!

That was a good Idea!=O
I hope Blizzard agrees with us and implements it in the future^^

If you actually read the text, its only on the tournament servers that this change is in.

However, creating these "item" enchants (for enchanters) will most likely be possible in WOTLK, as they have said that enchants would be sellable on the AH at some point, most likely WOTLK.

Last I'd heard, Blizzard's view on the subject was "We feel that the player interaction caused by the current enchanting system is a good thing and have no intention to change it."

In other words, "We like spam, ROFL"

it'd be nice if they made them like the counterweights or mithril spurs and made it so you could create the enchantment scroll, put it in the AH, someone buys it but they still need an enchanter to apply it.

if scrolls like the ones on the tournament realm dont make it through to live realms it'd be nice if enchanters got a bop component (like nethers and vortexes pre-2.4) to their enchantments that was acquired through disenchanting. this way you could still sell your mats to make money, buy them so that you dont have to wait until you get someone with the enchant you want and the mats too

lol yeah...thats a bit odd. why would they do that.

So Enchanters are now useless eh?

avatar

They will be on the Tournament Server, yes.

avatar

This won't make enchanters useless, because they will still be needed to create the items. It will only make trade barking easier for enchanters, which I view as a great idea.

That's not what this is referring to. This is allowing people to purchase enchants from a vendor on the tournament servers, to make for easier preping for tournaments. This will have ZERO impact on normal servers.

I wish you were correct and that it now allowed enchanters to create items to sell :(
